Arviat Youth Art and Film: Sexual Health Interventions

A community-based, participatory action sexual health education intervention and tool kit developed for Nunavut youth ages 15-24 by Arviat youth and members of the Arviat Film Society.

Lesson plans and other learning resources were produced by MPH student and AFS mentor Jessica Kwan to help schools and communities facilitate their own youth-driven sexual health interventions.

Youth also created a documentary video sharing their perspectives.

We thank Jessica Kwan, Deb Viel, the University of Toronto, Public Health Agency of Canada, Government of Nunavut, Nunavut Arctic College, the Hamlet of Arviat and John Arnalukjuak High School for their support in making this arts-based educational series of sexual health interventions possible.
